Steph's Story

Hi, I’m Steph – hillwalker, nature-lover, and a big believer in the power of the outdoors to lift the spirit.
After years working as a qualified mental health professional, I found myself needing to step back from a system that had become overwhelming – for me and for so many others. The hills became my space to breathe again.

Living with a chronic health condition, I've seen first-hand how gentle movement, fresh air, and time spent outdoors in nature can support both body and mind.
Having gained my Hill and Moorland Leader qualification I started Step Outdoors with Steph – to share the restorative nature of the hills and the quiet clarity that comes with being outdoors.

My hope is to inspire others to step outdoors too – to discover just how much the hills can hold, soothe, and strengthen us.
Here, there's no pressure to perform or push – just a chance to walk, talk (if you’d like), and reconnect with yourself in the wild beauty of the Peak District.
