Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking a walk or service with Step Outdoors with Steph. By booking a walk, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
1. About the Service
Step Outdoors with Steph provides guided outdoor walks in the Peak District, promoting physical and mental wellbeing in a supportive and sustainable way. These are not clinical mental health services and are not a substitute for professional therapy or medical advice.
2. Bookings and Payment
- All walks must be booked in advance via the booking system/contact form/email.
- Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.
- Prices are listed on the website and may be subject to change.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
By You (the Client):
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the walk will receive a full refund or credit.
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the walk are non-refundable.
- No refunds will be made if you decide not to walk due to weather conditions.
- If you are unable to attend due to illness or personal circumstances, please contact me - I may be able to offer a transfer to another date at my discretion.
By Step Outdoors with Steph:
- Walks may be cancelled due to extreme weather, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances, if this occurs you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
- Minimum Numbers: Group walks require a minimum of 3 participants to go ahead. If fewer than 3 bookings are received, the walk may be cancelled or rescheduled, and you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
4. Health and Safety
- You participate in walks at your own risk.
- It is your responsibility to ensure you are physically able to complete the walk.
- You must inform Steph of any relevant health conditions before the walk.
- Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for hill walking in variable weather.
- You must follow all safety guidance given by Steph during the walk.
5. Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing
- These walks offer a space to talk and connect with nature but are not a form of counselling or therapy.
- If you are in crisis or experiencing severe mental health challenges, please seek professional support from your GP or mental health services.
6. Children and Vulnerable Adults
- Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who must undertake full responsibility and supervision of them at all times. This is due to legal and licencing requirements.
- Safeguarding is taken seriously, and appropriate measures are in place to ensure the safety of all participants.
7. Liability
- While every effort is made to provide a safe and enjoyable experience, Step Outdoors with Steph cannot accept liability for personal injury, loss, or damage unless caused by proven negligence.
- You are responsible for your own safety and belongings.
8. Weather and Terrain
- Walks take place in all weathers except when deemed unsafe (e.g. storms, heavy snow).
- Step Outdoors with Steph reserve the right to change the itinerary or walking routes for safety reasons in poor weather conditions.
- Routes may include rough, uneven, or muddy terrain. You should be comfortable walking for the duration and distance advertised.
9. Data Protection and Privacy
- Your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- Basic information may be collected to manage your booking and communicate with you.
- No information will be shared with third parties without your consent.
10. Changes to These Terms
Step Outdoors with Steph reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions. The most recent version will always be available on the website.
